Add or Remove someone from Messaging

Change who has access to the channel

By default, you need to be a Shift Leader or higher to Add or Remove someone.  

 

Inside a channel, click on the 3 dots in the top right, then click Manage Members/Role and Areas

Member Channels (DM)

 

Search for the person you want to add then click Save.

Role Channel (Group)

Edit the roles you want to change, then edit the areas you want to change, then Save.

In this video I'm going to show you how you can add someone to a direct message or a group channel in the messaging app. So we'll start with the direct message. So in this case I have a Bruce and Kevin group message and I want to add another team member or someone else to it.

 

[00:22] So I can come into here and I can type in Kevin or test. So I could do like hey testing one click app and then I can hit save and now it's going to show that there are four members and I could come in here and let's say I don't want them on there anymore I can hit delete and then I can hit save. So now it's back to the three that it was before. With the directors one right now I have 19 team members that are added but I can come into here and right now it's all the directors but

 

[00:52] maybe I want all of the managers to be on there also. Or in this example maybe I don't want the back of house directors. In this case when I hit save it's not going to change anything just because all of our team in this store is just no area instead of front of house or back of house. But you get the idea that I can then come into here, maybe I want to add managers or just leave them off and I want to add them back and then I can hit save.

 

[01:21] So anything like that where it's customizing who's in the direct channels, will have this accept invite option once they do get in and then from there they can then accept it and then we'll be able to see all of the history of that channel. So let me know if you have any questions.
