Chick-fil-A

Hello friends! OneClick offers advanced break tracking and timing functions to help shift leaders manage who to send on break and when, to be in compliance with Colorado labor laws.

Here is a view of the Break manager interface showing which breaks each team member is eligible to take aligned in the center and the prompts of when to send the team members on break under their names on the left.

The break manager has been updated to help leaders abide by the Colorado Break laws as described in these two government websites (Disclaimer: we are not legal experts, and we are only providing tools to assist leaders in their responsibilities to manage team members):
Here are the key parts of the documents:
Meal Periods of 30 Minutes (sometimes called “Lunch breaks”)
"For shifts of over 5 consecutive hours, all employees are entitled to uninterrupted, duty-free meal periods of at least 30 minutes (unless the COMPS Order makes them exempt)." -- INFO #4
Rest Periods of 10 Minutes
"Employers must authorize and permit paid 10-minute rest periods for each 4 hours of work, or major fraction of that time (i.e., more than 2 hours). An additional rest period is required for any period that rounds up to four hours. For example, a shift of 2 hours or fewer requires no rest periods, a 2-hour and 1-minute shift requires one, and a 6-hour shift also requires one, but a 6-hour and 1-minute shift requires two..." -- INFO #4, emphasis added
These statements are accompanied by tables outlining the break rules:

OneClickApp also helps prompt when the team members should take their breaks based on the following timing rules:
  • All breaks should be started after the first hour of the shift
  • All breaks should be finished before the last hour of the shift
  • The 1st ten minute rest period should be run in the 1st four hours (1-4) of the shift
  • The 2nd ten minute rest period should be run in the 2nd four hours (4-8) of the shift
  • The 3rd ten minute rest period should be run in the 3rd four hours (8-12) of the shift
  • Etc...
This becomes the basis for our current set of break rules which looks like this:
These rules may be customized to match variations as implemented in individual stores by doing one the following:
