Copy and Paste in OneClick

Easily duplicate a well-designed layout onto another one, which saves time and effort when scheduling.

Introduction

OneClick simplifies layout management with its convenient copy and paste feature, allowing you to replicate a well-designed layout to another one. This saves time and effort in the scheduling process. This article provides a concise guide on how to copy and paste a layout in OneClick.

Creating the Source Layout

Before copying and pasting a layout, make sure you have designed and finalized the layout you wish to replicate according to your preferences.

Accessing the Destination Layout

To paste the copied layout into another one, follow these steps:

  1. Same Day Copy and Paste: If you want to paste the layout to another one on the same day, navigate to the desired layout for that day.

  2. Different Day Copy and Paste: If you want to paste the layout to another one on a different day, navigate to the desired layout for that specific day.

Pasting the Layout

Once you have accessed the destination layout, follow these steps to paste the copied layout:

  1. Click on "Paste Layout": Locate the "Paste Layout" button or option within the OneClick interface and click on it to initiate the layout pasting process.

  2. Position Replication: OneClick automatically replicates the positions from the source layout to the destination layout. This means that any team member assigned to specific positions in the source layout will be placed in the same positions in the destination layout.

Observing the Copy and Paste Functionality

To visually understand how to copy and paste layouts in OneClick, watch a demonstration video by following the provided link. The video showcases the step-by-step process of copying a layout and pasting it into another layout, highlighting the convenience and efficiency of this feature.

The following is a transcript of the video generated by a computer. The wording may be different.

[00:01] Hi everyone, this is Kevin for One Click. So, in this video, I'm going to show you how you can copy and paste current layouts that you have. So, right now I have nothing in my layout, so obviously I'm going to build it, whether that is placing random people in their spots, or doing the auto schedule, and then can move people as I want. I can also take the people in this example and put them in my Rotating Buddies set. So, in this case, I'm going to take Payton and Rachel, which is on drinks and mobile bagging, and I'm going to switch them every 10-15 minutes, whatever. So, from here, I would go in and just click on— So, once I like the layout that I have, I'm going to hit ‘Copy Current Layout’.

[00:45] Now I can go to my 2pm time and paste current layout, and everyone who is in that position, so for example, Rachel and Payton, Rachel was on drinks in the 11am lineup, so you can see that here, and then Payton is on mobile bagging, and you can see that there. So, you can see that anybody who is working that shift, or in that same time frame, is going to be put in that other position. So, in this case, I could say, “hey, maybe Payton is already there”, or maybe I want to put him on bagging, or stocker in this case, or leave him on bagging, whatever.

[01:21] Now, I could go to my 3pm setup, and I could do it again, or maybe I go to my 5:30 and then can paste, and I could see that no one is pasted, because no one else works after that 11pm time. Now the other cool thing that I can do about this, is I can go to a future date, so maybe I want to go to next Thursday, since I'm already on Thursday, and now when I paste the layout, I'm pasting it here, and you can see Payton and Rachel are both on the same position, because that's what I pasted them as, and they both work, but you can see here that I don't have a front counter bagger, or a dining room person. That's because Caleb, Christian, and in this case Jessica, all don't work next Thursday. And so, you can still copy and paste them over, and so if we go back to that Thursday, you can see here that I have four people that I haven't put in, and so I could just put them into the different spots, or whatever, and then maybe I want to copy this layout and put it on my Friday shift.

[02:27] Whatever the case is that you want to do, this ideally would save you time, so that you can make one shift, copy it to next week, and say, “hey, every Thursday, this is what the lineup is going to look like”, and then make your few adjustments here and there. Or if you want to do, “hey, I want to copy, have a good starting base to know where everybody was before”, I could do that. In the next video, we'll show you how you can do that just by clicking on copy 11:00 or copy 3:00, but we'll go more in detail in that next video.
