Introduction

Managing team members' work areas is crucial in staff scheduling to ensure appropriate task assignments and seamless transitions. OneClick provides a user-friendly interface that simplifies the process of editing team members' work areas, facilitating accurate scheduling adjustments. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of editing team member assignments in OneClick, allowing for smooth transitions between work areas.

Accessing Work Area Editing

To edit a team member's work area in OneClick, follow these steps:

  1. Opening Employee Preview:
    • Right-click or hold down the left mouse button on the team member's shift that you want to edit to open the options menu.
    • Select "Open Employee Preview" to access the details of the selected shift.

Editing Work Areas

Once you are in the Employee Preview interface, follow these steps to edit the team member's work area:

  1. Accessing Edit Mode:

    • Within the Employee Preview, locate the "Edit" button associated with the team member's shift.
    • Click on this button to enter edit mode and modify the shift details.
  2. Changing Work Areas:

    • In the edit mode, update the work area assignment for the team member by checking or unchecking the corresponding area checkboxes.
    • Select the area(s) where the team member needs to work, whether it's the front or the back, or both. Checking both boxes assigns the team member to both areas, while unchecking both boxes removes them from the roster altogether.
  3. Saving Changes:

    • After making the necessary changes to the work areas, click on the "Save Changes" button to apply the updates.
    • The system will process the changes, typically taking less than a minute to update any associated breaks or other relevant symbols.

The following is a transcript of the video generated by a computer. The wording may be different.

[00:01]Hey everyone from OneClick, this is Kevin. I'm going to show you kind of the next installment in this series of custom shifts, is moving someone from the front of house to the back of house. So, we're going to pick on Allison because we made their shift, and you can see that by the OCA General and the little tildes there showing that it has been edited. So, in this case, we want her, she's been cross-trained, so I'm going to take her from the front of house part to the back of house. So, I can click on the Edit button here, and I can click just back of house here, and in this case, it will show up on both. So, Addison would be there, and when I go to my back of house lineup, you can also see Addison there.

[00:43] If I wanted to have it where she only shows up on the one, I could click off of whatever check mark it is. In this case, she's only on back of house, so you can see her there, where if I go back to the front of house, you can't see Addison there. Oh, not that button. So, in this case, I could take her back off of this one. So, now when I hit Save, you can see that she was taken off and going back over to front of house there. Now, if you want to take her off completely and delete a shift, you'll have to watch the next video in this series, but a sneak peek, you can just go and take them off of both, and when you do that, it takes her off completely. And in the next video, I'll go over how to restore them if we do want them to come back. If you do have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out through email, or you can use the ‘Reply with Video’ button down below to record a video to show us, and we can go from there. See you in the next one.
